Roth Tackles Double Duty Of Owner-Driver

Marty Roth will bear the brunt of two responsibilities this year. Not only will he be the owner of the No. 4 Roth Racing Dallara/Infiniti/Firestone in the IRL Menards Infiniti Pro Series, he’ll be driving that car.

Roth, 45, a racing veteran, came back to open-wheel racing in 2002 after a 12-year absence. Driving in the Menards Infiniti Pro Series, he finished 10th in the point standings.

The Toronto resident recorded three top-10 finishes in six starts for Brian Stewart Racing. After the season, he decided to form his own team and purchased the equipment of Panther Racing, which had produced Menards Infiniti Pro Series™champion Mark Taylor.

“Roth Racing has come together beautifully,” Roth said. “With Mark Moore as team manager and engineer, Butch Winkle as chief mechanic and Matt Shuett we were able to assemble a talented and dedicated team. We have had a lot of support from the Indy Racing League, and from teams and suppliers such as Sinden Racing Services, Impact Racing, Corby Design and Free Lance Graphics just to name a few, and I want to personally thank everyone for their encouragement and best wishes.”

Marty Roth: “As far as the first race in Homestead goes, I couldn’t be more excited. Last year we started the season off with a lot less banking for the first two races, but now with Homestead increasing their banking to 20 degrees we’ll be getting right into it. High speed – wheel-to-wheel, open wheel racing. It’s what Indy racing is all about.”
